BHS Marching Band to Host its First Play-A-Thon on August 1

The Batavia High School Marching Band is slated to showcase its award-winning talent on Thursday, August 1st at 7:30 PM during the band’s First Annual Play-A-Thon Concert at the Peg Bond Center at the Batavia Riverwalk.

“We are excited to showcase some of the music from our competitive show, ‘Capture the Light,’ in addition to several popular tunes that the entire family will enjoy,” Band Director, Anna Teliszczak said.

The Batavia High School Marching Band is an extra-curricular activity that provides opportunities for members to perform at several local parades and competitions,  in addition to all of the home football games.

Teliszczak said the goal of this free event is to provide quality entertainment while raising funds for new marching instruments, marching shoes and light props.

“Donations to the band program or to a specific band student are appreciated,” Teliszczak said.  Band members are currently seeking sponsors, and community members can also support the program by sending a check made payable to Batavia Music Buffs to the following address:

Batavia High School C/o Band Department 1201 Main Street Batavia, IL 60510
